Can music make wine taste better? Some studies say our taste buds are influenced by pleasurable surroundings, and who are we to argue with science?

Join three nights of Wine & Music Conversations with local artists as we go behind the scenes. Host Trey Busch, music-lover turned winemaker/owner of Sleight of Hand Cellars, interviews some of his local faves to find out what inspires them to make beautiful music.

Immediately following, enjoy a live concert from a headlining artist. Oh, and be sure to have your glass of Washington wine nearby!

Thursday, May 20

5:30 – 6:30 pm: Wine & Music Conversations with Trey Busch and The Copper Trees
6:30 – 7:00 pm: Headliner Concert with Stephanie Anne Johnson

GIVE-AWAY ALERT: Each night, one audience member who registered and viewed the concert via Zoom (only) will be eligible to win two tickets to a concert at the Chateau Ste Michelle 2022 Summer Concert Series!

Trey Busch, Host

Sleight of Hand Cellars

Trey remembers his first concert like it was yesterday. His love of music is one of the reasons he ended up in the Pacific NW. After moving to Seattle in 1992 and working for Nordstrom for eight years, Trey received the chance to move to Walla Walla and join the wine business with the Dunham Cellars family. Trey fell in love with winemaking which led him to Sleight of Hand Cellars, named “The Next Generation” of up-and-coming wineries in Washington state by Seattle Magazine.

The Copper Trees

Musical Artists

Individually, Kate and Eric are renowned in their respective fields: Kate is an acclaimed artist, photographer, and musician. Eric is an acclaimed producer, musician, and songwriter, whose work has appeared on The Voice, Counting Cars, and Pawn Stars. Eric also owns the iconic London Bridge Studio, which helped amplify the “Seattle Sound” carved out by Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Mother Love Bone. In early 2020, Kate and Eric started work on their debut album “RÊVER”. In Summer 2020, American Songwriter named The Copper Trees one of the “Five to Discover: Acts You Need to Know”.

Stephanie Anne Johnson

Musical Artist

Stephanie Anne Johnson is the front person for the country soul Tacoma-based band, The Hidogs. The Hidogs’ prowess exudes whether they are singing the Black national anthem, wowing judges on the TV series The Voice, or cooing acoustic lullabies to Saturday night tavern regulars.
The group’s latest LP, Take This Love, is a blend of Loretta Lynn and Valerie June. Stephanie Anne Johnson has opened for acts including Bernie Sanders, and artists such as Mavis Staples, Chaka Khan, and Ani DiFranco.
